Hi all,

It’s been some time since I last posted on the blog. I’m up to my eyeballs in projects, so I’ll keep this short. Summer this year was more than we ever expected. As I mentioned in my previous post, I had shoulder surgery which went well. Things were getting back to normal when Hurricane Harvey hit. Houston went underwater, and my subdivision was one that went under mandatory evacuation. We fled to the Texas hill country and kept our fingers crossed and did a lot of praying that house wouldn’t flood. It didn’t, and we were among the fortunate. Others weren’t so lucky, and our hearts to go out to them as well as to so many who lost homes, and sometimes loved ones in this terrible storm and Hurricane Irma as well.

While things have been a little scrambled here at Casa Draven, I’ve continued working on my book that will be delivered to Penguin Random House. They’ve been very gracious in allowing me some additional time to complete the manuscript for Phoenix Unbound.

To get to the subject line of this post, my holiday novel SUNDAY’S CHILD, which was previously published as part of a duology collaboration (All The Stars Look Down) with author Elizabeth Hunter is now available as a stand-alone novella with a new cover. It also includes a bonus short story titled THE KING OF HEL, which I wrote back in 2004 and was published by my now-defunct publisher Amber Quill Press. Rights reverted back to me in 2011, and it’s sat on my hard drive for all that time until I could decide what I wanted to do with it.

SUNDAY’S CHILD is currently available on iBooks and at Inktera in epub format. I’ve loaded it to Amazon, but it isn’t yet available there (they’re always a little slower than the other guys). As soon as it goes live on the Zon as well, I’ll let you know.
